Killing a human being is like killing the entire humanity. This is what has been observed from the Pistorius’s apology to the family of Reeva Steenkamp. Actually, Pistorius had killed Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day last year. She was his girl friend and supposed to be the most stunning model of South Africa.
On the other hand, after the passage of 1 year, Pistorius (murderer) said to her family that “I would like to say sorry to the family of Reeva, her fans and to those who knew her”. He further said to aggrieved family that “I cannot imagine the degree of pain that I have caused you and your family but I swear that she felt loved , when she went to bed that night”, he cried.
Since the case had been lodged, Monday was the first day of defense phase of trial. Pistorius said to Pretoria court that he mistook Steenkamp when she entered his home and brought into the notice of judge that he was on medication and taking heavy sleeping pills. He reiterated that “it was an accident and he did not intentionally killed his girl friend”. On the contrary, witnesses opine that she was intentionally killed and there were no signs of accident.
Lastly, Pistorius confessed that he had fire four shots in self defense and it was in his mind that she was a nighttime intruder who covertly burglarize houses at late night. The trial of the Blade runner has been adjourned till May and it is being speculated that he may be charged under culpable homicide, a crime based on negligence.
